Airtel Removes Data Rollover Facility for Broadband Users To recall, Airtel introduced data rollover facility on broadband plans back in 2017 when the company had only FUP enabled plans. Firstly, the data rollover facility was introduced for Airtel postpaid users, and thankfully, the company did not remove it for the postpaid subscribers though. Airtel Xstream Fibre now has just four broadband plans- Rs 799, Rs 999, Rs 1,499 and Rs 3,999, providing data benefit of 150GB, 300GB, 500GB and 3.3TB every month. As you can see, the FUP limit is not impressive by any standards, which seems to be the reason why the company removed data rollover facility. A lot of Airtel Broadband customers are complaining on Twitter that their current month’s data is no more forwarded to the next month. Yes, Airtel has officially removed data rollover facility on broadband plans. On the brighter side, the company is allowing the subscribers to make use of the already existing carry forwarded data in the customer’s account until the time they migrate to another plan. For example, if you’re on the earlier Rs 1,599 broadband plan and has somewhere around 800GB data leftover in your account. Airtel will allow you to use this data until the time you fully consume it or until the time you migrate to another plan. If you shift to another Airtel Xstream Fibre plan, then the data will lapse. Right now, we’re not sure whether Airtel is migrating customers to the new plans and benefits automatically. The new plans definitely offer faster speeds and lower FUP limit, but you now have the choice of making it unlimited data at just Rs 299 per month. Airtel Xstream Fibre Plans to Take on JioFiber Plans In September, Reliance Jio announced JioFiber broadband plans starting at Rs 699 and the speeds start at 100 Mbps. Airtel Xstream Fibre takes on JioFiber with almost similarly priced broadband. Airtel Xstream Fibre now has four broadband plans- Airtel Basic, Airtel Entertainment, Airtel Premium and Airtel VIP. The Airtel Basic plan offers 100 Mbps speeds and 150GB of FUP limit; Airtel Entertainment plan ships with 200 Mbps speeds and 300GB FUP limit; Airtel Premium plan offers 300 Mbps speeds and 500GB of FUP every month. Lastly, the Airtel VIP broadband plan offers 1 Gbps speeds and unlimited data which will be 3.3TB every month. The prices of these plans are Rs 799, Rs 999, Rs 1,499 and Rs 3,999, respectively. On top of these plans, Airtel Xstream Fibre allows every customer to make their plan offer unlimited data (3.3TB) at Rs 299 more, which will come as a major addition to many.
